Clothesline Project
"Thank you for this memorial. It was painful to view, but it will keep alive in my mind the energy to continue to work towards prevention."
Annually, Violence Free Minnesota releases a new edition of the Clothesline Project, a visual memorial to the past year’s victims of intimate partner homicide. The project consists of a unique shirt for each victim designed by a volunteer artist. While many of the artists did not know the victim they honored with a shirt, some are designed by family members and friends in honor of their loved ones. The shirts are then hung on a clothesline and displayed in a public location.
Violence Free Minnesota has Clothesline Projects from 1992 to the present available for exhibit throughout the state. To reserve a Clothesline Project display in your community, please fill out the form below and return it to Meggie Royer at mroyer@vfmn.org.
